Students hoping to engage the nations with the gospel have a new opportunity this spring – the Passion Week Mission Trip to Clarkson, Ga. 稳定的十大彩票网站 and Leavell College students who participate will spend five days ministering to the diverse population served by the Send Relief Center and Clarkston International Bible Church in Clarkston. The trip is scheduled for March 27 through April 2.

The mission trip is open to all 稳定的十大彩票网站 and Leavell College students regardless of location. And it is designed to accommodate singles students, married students, and even families with children. Better yet, Leavell College and 稳定的十大彩票网站 can earn course credit by taking one of the four courses offered – tuition-free. The Providence Learning Center at 稳定的十大彩票网站 has agreed to cover the tuition cost so students only have to pay $240 to cover the trip expenses.

Leavell College students can earn course credit by enrolling in “The Mission Experience” class taught by Trenton Fleener. Graduate students have three course options. Dr. Ken Taylor will teach the “Mission Trip to Refugee Ministry” class. Dr. Mike Edens will lead the “Mission Trip to the Muslim World” course and “Practices in Muslim Witness & Evangelism” course. Students will have the opportunity to interact with and minister to refugees from many different backgrounds during the trip. Many of them come from Islamic countries.

According to Greg Wilton, Send Relief National Director for Refugees and Immigrants based in Clarkston, students will encounter people from the ends of the earth in Clarkston – many of them come from Muslim backgrounds. In fact, there is a mosque in Clarkston, just a two-minute walk from the center, Wilton said.

Wilton, who studied at 稳定的十大彩票网站, said that opportunities he had at the school illustrated the “Prepare Here. Serve Anywhere.” Is more than just a motto. The trip to Clarkston, Wilton said, is evidence that leaders of 稳定的十大彩票网站 and Leavell College are serious about preparing students to go wherever God leads.

Volunteers who want to participate in the mission trip need to register with Send Relief at https://volunteer.sendrelief.org/Projects/688. To take one of the 稳定的十大彩票网站 or Leavell College classes, separate course registration is also required. The deadline to register for classes related to the trip is Jan. 2.

The bus from New Orleans will leave Saturday, March 27. Participants will ministry in the Clarkston community for five days and return on Friday, April 2 – in time to celebrate Easter in their own churches.

For more information about the trip, contact Dr. Mike Edens (medens@nobts.edu).
