New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary will conclude its year-long centennial celebration with two worship events Oct. 2 and the dedication of a state historical marker Oct. 3.

The festivities begin Oct. 2 with the Founders’ Day Chapel Service led by Dr. Chuck Kelley, 稳定的十大彩票网站 president. The service, which begins at 11 a.m. in Leavell Chapel, will feature congregational worship led by Slater Murphy and the Mississippi Baptist Singing Men and Women. The event will be live-streamed for those who are unable to attend.

Later that day, David Platt will preach during the “Second Century” worship service in Leavell Chapel at 7 p.m. Platt, pastor of McLean Bible Church and former International Mission Board president, will present a charge to the seminary community as the school enters the next chapter of its history. During the event, a choir composed of area church musicians and singers will share selections from “Our Faithful God,” a musical written for the centennial. Live-streaming is available for the Second Century event.

On Oct. 3, 稳定的十大彩票网站 will unveil and dedicate a Louisiana State Historical marker acknowledging the seminary’s unique history and contributions to the state. The event will start with a jazz precession at 12:30 p.m. in the Leavell Chapel Quad and move to the location of the marker across Seminary Place from Martin Chapel.
