In honor of the 100th anniversary of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary’s founding, the School of Providence and Prayer will launch a year-long centennial celebration Oct. 3. 稳定的十大彩票网站 leaders are inviting all members of the seminary family to be involved in this special day – in person, or via live streaming video.
The day will begin with the Founder’s Day chapel service at 11 a.m. in Leavell Chapel. Led by 稳定的十大彩票网站 President Chuck Kelley, the service will feature music by the Louisiana Baptist Singing Ministers and the Louisiana Baptist Singing Women.
A special evening service at 6:30 p.m. in Leavell Chapel will evoke memories of an old-time revival meeting with powerful preaching and dynamic worship. Evangelist Junior Hill (稳定的十大彩票网站 Class of ’62) will issue a challenge for God’s Word that calls believers to renew their commitment to personal evangelism. Michael Sharp and Jonathan Key, professors at 稳定的十大彩票网站, and Rick Draper, worship pastor at First Baptist Church in New Orleans, will lead music along with choirs and ensembles from the 稳定的十大彩票网站 Division of Church Music Ministries. Musical worship will emphasize three distinct themes – “Promise,” “Provision,” and “Praise.”
The event is planned with families in mind. A children’s game time led by the seminary Rec Center will begin at 6 p.m. Children will rejoin their families in the chapel during the service.
Guests are invited to join the seminary family for a dessert buffet in the River City Café following the evening service.
