Tyler Wittman teaches in the area of systematic theology. He loves helping students to see the majesty of God and his gospel, and how important theology is for every facet of life and ministry.
His most recent book, Creation: An Introduction(Crossway, 2025), is a concise, constructive theology of creation. With Bobby Jamieson, Wittman co-authored Biblical Reasoning: Christological and Trinitarian Rules for Exegesis (Baker Academic, 2022), which trains readers in the exegetical logic of Christianity’s central teachings by inviting them to pursue the face of God in Scripture. His first book, God and Creation in the Theology of Thomas Aquinas and Karl Barth (Cambridge, 2018), explored the nature of God’s relation to creation.
Wittman's current research and writing continues to develop his interests in theological exegesis, as well as the doctrines of creation, God, and Christology. Most immediately, he is editing the Oxford Handbook of Divine Attributes in Christian Theologywith Dr. T. Robert Baylor of Calvin College. Many of his essays may also be found in journals, such as International Journal of Systematic Theology, Modern Theology, Scottish Journal of Theology, Pro Ecclesia, and Studies in Christian Ethics.
Tyler and his wife have four children and reside in New Orleans, where they serve at Immanuel Community Church. He enjoys a good hike, exercise, reading, and films. He is also a rabid Dallas Stars fan.
